Step III: Vite, vite à la gare*
The train leaves on Sunday at 15:31. So we have still left more than half a day in prague. Having slept the extraordinary amount of 8 hours most of our group are finally eager to perform some touristic tasks — apart from M., the younger and M., the older one. So again we have a nice stroll through Josefstadt. The group is very nice in supporting me in finding the other cubistic building that is located in the very downtown of prague: the black madonna. After frequent looks on the map we finally manage to find it: several times on this weekend I have been walking by without recognizing it. You will recognize it, if your are looking for a book shop. Indeed you can`t miss it.

Step IIb: Taking pictures
As the only one waking up already by 10:30 in the morning I decide, after a very hot shower, to have a short stroll through the very nice and historical district »Josefstadt«, just me, my camera and my mp3-player. I am eager to see one of the zchech cubism buildings of Prague: the building at Elisky Krasnohorske 10–14 by Otakar Novotny (1919–1921), of which I only heard one month before. Have a short oversight over the history and aims of zchech cubism on: Czech Cubism Image Tour if you like. For example the famous »black madonna« in the center of prague is a cubist building, too.

Step IIa: Getting drunk and piss off
As the botel’s bar closes at 24:00 the group devides. One part is fatigued and wents to bed. The other group decides to try again Prague’s nightlife and is extremely lucky this time: a nice bar with a basement vault reminding to the MB in Leipzig, just smaller. Beeing ahead of the others by approx. 5 bottles of beer you’ve drunk during train travel and already having combined these bottles with Becherovka, you happily introduce an international selection of interesting, funny and extremely nice people to your group:

Vor Jahren habe ich einen Bericht über ein Pragwochenende mit Arbeitsfreunden für Odyssee77 (lief damals noch englisch) vorbereitet. Der Bericht wurde, mal wieder oder chronologisch richtiger da zum ersten Mal, im Geiste von Jerome K. Jeromes Erzählungen geschrieben. Und er wurde immer länger. Und ich habe ihn nicht zu Ende geschrieben. Ich werde es vermutlich auch nicht mehr tun. Und da man die Seiten von lieben Freunden nicht mit unvollendetem Müll belastet, kommt sie nun vor meine eigene Tür.

Der erste Teil der Geschichte ist die Geschichte eines lieben Freundes, der heute Geburtstag hat. Sie zeigt: Heldentum ist keine äußerlich vorgehende/sich vollziehende Handlung, sondern eine innere Einstellung unter allen Umständen, so widrig sie auch sein mögen.

In late November 2005 I visited Prague with a very mixed bunch of 15 collegues. We were heading for a joyous weekend full of »knedliky« (dumplings) and becherovka and of course for some of us shopping and sight seeing as well. During this weekends holiday I witnessed four times that members of our group were heading into getting lost with an eagerness which slightly irritated me. Assuming that getting lost must be something that many people are fond of (they need the kick), I will start a kind of series on Alex website in which tips and tricks in getting lost can be collected.
